Healthy Birds is a Resource Hub for Small Flock Poultry Health
The Western Small Flocks Collaborative (WSFC) supports small flock owners across the western region by providing practical information on biosecurity, flock care, and poultry diseases. The WSFC is a regional effort put forth by university and state officials in Colorado, New Mexico, the Navajo Nation, and Wyoming to help small flock owners take simple, everyday steps to protect their birds and keep a healthy flock.
About This Project
HealthyBirds.info is an educational website focused on bird health and care for a non-technical, information-seeking audience. I served as the primary developer, responsible for the site’s architecture, UX implementation, and deployment.
Situation
The target audience needed clear, trustworthy information about bird health, but existing resources were either overly technical or difficult to navigate on mobile. The project also required a structure that would allow ongoing content updates without recurring development work.
Task
I was responsible for designing and building a maintainable, accessible, and performance-conscious website that prioritized readability and ease of navigation while supporting future content growth.

Result
The finished site delivered a clear, accessible reading experience across devices and enabled content updates without developer intervention. Stakeholders were able to maintain and grow the site with confidence, and the platform remains stable and easy to extend.
Reflection
If rebuilding the site today, I would explore additional analytics tooling to better quantify user engagement and content effectiveness.
