Redesign
Vice President for Research, CSU
Colorado State University Research is the central hub for showcasing and supporting CSU’s diverse research enterprise, highlighting discoveries that address some of the world’s largest challenges. The site connects faculty, students, and partners to research initiatives spanning sustainability, health, energy, agriculture, and global impact, and provides resources for funding, compliance, and collaboration. Through stories, data, and institutional support services, CSU Research demonstrates how the university advances knowledge, drives innovation, and translates research into solutions that benefit Colorado, the nation, and the world.
Situation
The Office of the Vice President for Research (VPR) at Colorado State University needed a website redesign to better reflect CSU’s research mission, improve usability for diverse audiences, and modernize an aging technical foundation.
Task
I was responsible for contributing to the redesign by translating stakeholder and institutional goals into a scalable, accessible, and user‑centered web experience that could support a wide range of research content and audiences.
Action
I worked across front‑end and back‑end development to implement a clear information architecture, build flexible and reusable components, and optimize performance and accessibility in alignment with university standards. I collaborated closely with designers, content strategists, and VPR leadership to ensure research priorities were communicated clearly and navigation paths met the needs of faculty, students, and external partners.
Result
The redesigned VPR site launched as a modern, scalable platform that improved usability, accessibility, and content management. It now more effectively communicates CSU’s research strengths, supports ongoing content growth, and provides an intuitive experience for internal and external stakeholders.
